A Farewell Message
Around this time of the year I would normally have posted details of workshops for the coming term. However, after much thought I have finally decided to call a halt to my own teaching programme. There's a lot of work in the planning, setting up on the day etc apart from the teaching, not to mention all the cooking and catering by my indefatigable companion, Wendy, so we have finally concluded we should bow out whilst we're on top rather than shuffling to a slow halt !
That's not to say I have hung up my tutoring hat completely. I will still be very happy to take sessions for art groups and other organizations whilst people are interested in having me. Indeed, I must reassure anyone reading this who has already booked me to say I haven't given up on you and I will be coming !
Nevertheless, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for so many years of wonderful company. When I started out in 1997 teaching an evening class at Shifnal, new to the area, I had no idea where my teaching would lead and how many delightful people I would get to meet in Bridgnorth, Coalbrookdale, Dawley, Albrighton, Newport, Upton Magna, Little Wenlock, Oldbury, Weston Park, Tong, Welshpool and last but not least Dolanog. For me it has been a truly wonderful experience and has been a thoroughly rewarding time - sharing new ideas and trying out different approaches in such friendly company. I have enjoyed every minute of it - I hope you have too.
For the future, I will continue to post details of my exhibitions and will look forward to meeting up again, perhaps at a future event.
Thank you again and good luck with all your painting and drawing.
